Garden Office

Lewes, East Sussex

The client works at Sussex University and like many found herself working from home for most of the working week. She lives on a modest 2 bedroom terraced house so really benefitted from the extra space that our garden rooms can create, even in the smallest of gardens. When she contacted us, she was working in her spare room which meant that she couldn’t have any guests to stay and she also felt the need for a more professional working environment.

We built the maximum size of cabin possible for the garden, adjacent to the 3 boundaries, leaving a service gap to 2 sides for maintenance of fences and so on. The 2.7m x 2.7m square room has 2m aluminium sliding doors to the front and a fixed letterbox window to the right elevation which faces west, to flood the room with light.

The garden office is finished internally with a plastered ceiling painted in All White, plastered walls painted in Green Smoke and and LVT floor in pale oak. 2 BTC Hector wall lamps light the interior and two Oval Aluminium Bulkheads light the garden area outside. The exterior is clad in local sussex cedar to the front and the rear & side elevations are clad in Box Profile Black Coated Steel sheets.
