2 person office with intergrated bike store / workshop
Prestonville, Brighton
The client wanted an office in his garden for himself & his partner, who both now work at home sometimes. He also wanted somewhere secure and practical to keep his bicycles and tools and due to the unusual shape of his garden, we needed to come up with a unique and bespoke design. As the garden was limited in size, the design and build needed to maximise the available space.
The outside of the cabin is clad in local Cedar using, the traditional up and over style of fitting, using stainless steel pins. There is 2 metre aluminium sliding door to the front elevation, giving the cabin a feeling of light and space and allowing wheel chair if necessary. Both the main office and the intergrated bike store have aluminium top hung windows to allow in extra light and also to increase ventilation in the hotter months. Inside there are two BTC Hector wall lights for ample illumination and outside two BTC yacht brass bulkheads to illuminate the garden and also the store area. The floor is fitted in engineered natural oak, the ceiling is plastered and painted in New White and the walls are panelled, painted in Breakfast Room Green. All electrical sockets and switches are in Corston Bronze with black inserts.
